Out to Sea

They gathered
And embraced
As a body of black ash
Floated out to the sea,

A distance forgotten,
The sweet brew of good times
Fermenting with tears.

She will be missed,
Like biscuits from a tin
In a kitchen filled with smiles.

Sail safely,
Sail sound,

Love’s swimming with you
Wherever you’re bound.
