A Distant Dance In The Eyes

Like the creases
On an elephants skin,

A sweatless mass
Of dry, erased memories,

Thoughts heavy as clay,
A distant dance in the eyes.

A spittleless mouth
Frittering words,

Cracked with emotion,

The herd gets a notion

Something is fading away.
