Until The Day’s Gone Dark

Let’s wait until
The day’s gone dark,

Ignore the winter winds,
The electrician knocking,
The neighbours with drills
And the bullish swagger
Of the bin men,

By 8pm they’ll be
Watching soap operas
And eating chips;

The night is made for song,

Let’s wait until
The day’s gone dark

Before we
Sing along.
