Projections

All comfortable, alien glows,
Far flung from the trip of light sleep,

An awakening of projections,
The sunrise on your bedroom walls,

Stressed, sombre eyes deconstructed,
All fluttering beacons

And hushed melodies
In warm isolation.

You are buried in dreamscapes,
Wrapped loosely in calm,

A breeze circling in secret,
Stray magic all quivers,

Soft scratches in sandpits
And whispers of wonder,

Wandering across beaches
The tide petting your feet,

And setting you free
To just hum

And kiss bird song,
Tongue lolling,

A longing unwrapped,
Sweet serenity tapped.

Black Gutters Gush

Posted in Poetry with tags , , , , , , , on June 10, 2017 by dc

Wooden gates creak
As the storm starts to scream,

Idiots, thieves,
I beg your pardon,

Listen to the worms outside,
Deep inside the garden.

Crooked drains weep
Till they splutter with woe,

Insatiable lords,
I beg your pardon,

Keep one eye on your shadowed sides,
There are knives forever sharpened.

Black gutters gush
As the rainbow waits,

Ignorant hope,
I beg your pardon,

Beware the Gods that say they’re so
And break until you’re hardened.
