Wasp Nest

A wasp nest
In a demolition derby
Mustang engine,

There’s nothing broken,
Just an angry drone,

And the Pepsi children,
All twitchy and wild,

Make the moment,

Electrified
Like fizzing TV’s.

Maybe the wasps
Will die in the smoke,

Maybe there’s
A death rattle
Circling,

A curse
To go alongside

The chronic pain
And the ketchup
Daydreams,

The squealing tyres
And the car park
Doughnuts,

The buzz
Of dust
And nerves.
